Discover the Cotswold Lakes
The Cotswold Lakes covers over 40 square miles and features more than 180 lakes, creating a beautiful wet lands landscape that is home to tens of thousands of breeding and migratory birds. It is a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts, walkers, and anyone seeking a tranquil countryside escape.
With thirteen settlements spread across the lakes, there are plenty of villages and towns to explore. Highlights include:
- Fairford – home to the only complete set of medieval stained glass in a parish church in the UK
- Cricklade – where the Roman road Ermin Street crosses the River Thames

Lake Pochard
Lake Pochard Holiday Lodges – A Peaceful Lakeside Retreat
Lake Pochard Holiday Lodges offer an idyllic and tranquil escape in the heart of the Cotswold Lakes, a stunning area of over 150 lakes on the borders of Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. Perfect for relaxation, nature walks, and enjoying the serenity of the countryside, our lodges provide a peaceful retreat for families, couples, and groups.
Guests can enjoy excellent on-site fishing or dine at the Waterside Kitchen and Bar, a lakeside restaurant serving delicious meals (reservations recommended).
Many of the lodges are dog-friendly, allowing you to bring your four-legged companions along for the getaway. For the safety of the local wildlife, dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
Oakdene Forest Holiday Park
Oakdene Forest Park sits in 55 acres of mature woodland in St Leonards, on the edge of the New Forest. It backs straight onto Hurn Forest, so woodland walks and cycle trails start right outside your door.
There's plenty to enjoy without leaving the park. The indoor pool has an exciting flume, with a sauna and steam room alongside for grown-ups to unwind. In summer, the heated outdoor pool with water jets is a favourite with families. There's also a fully equipped gym, adventure golf, an arcade, an adventure play area and a large playing field. In the evenings, the bar and restaurant has family entertainment, and there's a café and takeaway for easy meals. An on-site supermarket and launderette cover the essentials. Best of all, when you book with Cotswold Retreats your park passes are included, so you can make the most of everything Oakdene has to offer.
Beyond the park, the historic market town of Ringwood is just a few miles away, with independent shops, traditional pubs and its Wednesday market. Moors Valley Country Park and Avon Heath are close by for lakeside trails, tree-top adventures and family days out. Bournemouth's golden beaches are under 10 miles away. Pretty New Forest villages such as Burley and Lyndhurst are also within easy reach, where ponies and donkeys still roam freely. With forest, coast and countryside all close at hand, it's an ideal base for families, walkers and anyone who loves the outdoors.
